{"id":144,"date":"2017-09-29T14:48:22","date_gmt":"2017-09-29T01:48:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kalem92887712.wordpress.com\/2017\/09\/29\/quinoa-bars\/"},"modified":"2017-09-29T14:48:22","modified_gmt":"2017-09-29T01:48:22","slug":"quinoa-bars","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.myfoodbag.co.nz\/explore\/2017\/09\/29\/quinoa-bars\/","title":{"rendered":"Quinoa Bars"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>These hunger busters are packed full of fibre, vitamins, minerals and healthy fats, in addition to each bar contains over 6 grams of protein!\u200a\u2014\u200ahelping you feel fuller for longer.<\/em><\/p>\n<figure><\/figure>\n<p>Makes 8 bars<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Ingredients<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>10 medjool dates, pitted and chopped<br \/>\n3 tablespoons chia seeds<br \/>\n\u00bc cup white quinoa<br \/>\n1 cup oats<br \/>\n3 tablespoons linseeds<br \/>\n3 tablespoons LSA<br \/>\n\u00bd teaspoon sea salt<br \/>\n3 tablespoons crunchy peanut butter (or preferred nut butter)<br \/>\n2 tablespoons coconut oil, melted<br \/>\n2 teaspoons honey<br \/>\n1 teaspoon cinnamon<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>To serve<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A sprinkle of freeze dried raspberries (optional)<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Method<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Line a 20cm inch cake tin with baking paper. Bring a small pot of water to the boil.<\/p>\n<p>1. Cook quinoa in pot of boiling water for about 15 minutes, until tender with a slight bite. Drain, rinse under cold water then drain very well.<\/p>\n<p>2. Place all ingredients in a food processor and blend for about 1 minute, until well combined and mixture sticks together when pressed between fingers.<\/p>\n<p>3. Evenly press into prepared baking dish or tin and flatten out with hands.<\/p>\n<p>4. Cover and freeze for about 30 minutes until firm. Remove from freezer and cut into 8 wedge shape bars.
