{"id":585,"date":"2017-10-17T14:36:27","date_gmt":"2017-10-17T01:36:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/kalem92887712.wordpress.com\/2017\/10\/17\/banana-walnut-bliss-balls\/"},"modified":"2017-10-17T14:36:27","modified_gmt":"2017-10-17T01:36:27","slug":"banana-walnut-bliss-balls","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.myfoodbag.co.nz\/explore\/2017\/10\/17\/banana-walnut-bliss-balls\/","title":{"rendered":"Banana Walnut Bliss Balls"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>These tasty little morsels are packed full of healthy ingredients and are based on banana cake with way less calories.<\/em><\/p>\n<figure>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" data-width=\"3840\" data-height=\"5760\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn-images-1.medium.com\/max\/800\/1*Sl5BA9QhoL_Zrkt-sjwd5A.jpeg\" alt=\"\" title=\"\"><br \/>\n<\/figure>\n<p>Makes 24 balls<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Ingredients<\/em><\/strong><br \/>2 cups rolled oats<br \/>\u00bc cup dried apricots<br \/>2 medium bananas<br \/>100g lite spreadable cream cheese<br \/>\u00bc cup sunflower seeds, finely chopped<br \/>\u00bc cup dried cranberries, finely chopped<br \/>1 tablespoon honey<br \/>\u00bd teaspoon ground cinnamon<br \/>1\/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg<br \/>A pinch sea salt<br \/>1 tablespoon coconut oil, melted<br \/>2\/3 cup walnuts, finely chopped<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Method<\/em><\/strong><br \/>1. Place oats and apricots in a food processor and blend for about 1 minute, until finely ground. Set aside.<\/p>\n<p>2. Mash banana\u2019s in a large bowl. Add cream cheese and stir until well mixed. Add oat\/apricot mixture to bowl, along with all remaining banana and walnut bliss ball ingredients (except walnuts). Stir to combine.<\/p>\n<p>3. Cover and freeze for about 30 minutes until starting to firm. Using heaped tablespoons, roll into balls.<\/p>\n<p>4. Place chopped walnuts into a small bowl and roll balls in walnuts to coat. Repeat with all balls.<\/p>\n<p>5. Once coated, return balls to freezer for a further 30 minutes, until firm.
