Soaking the oats overnight results in a creamy, thick porridge consistency. Oats are a great source of protein, fibre and vitamins crucial to the metabolic process such as B1 and zinc.<\/em><\/p>\n<figure>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" data-width=\"1600\" data-height=\"1067\" src=\"https:\/\/cdn-images-1.medium.com\/max\/800\/1*nYxqiziZY8_DY8FiroTJ0Q.jpeg\" alt=\"\" title=\"\"><br \/>\n<\/figure>\n<p><strong><em>Ingredients<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00bd cup quick oats<br \/>2 tsp cocoa\/cacao powder (optional)<br \/>Pinch of salt<br \/>\u00be cup milk<br \/>2 tsp maple syrup<br \/>1 tsp nut butter (e.g. peanut, almond, cashew)<br \/>1 Tbsp coconut thread<br \/>Sprinkle of berries<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Method<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>1. Place oats, cocoa\/cacao powder and salt in a jar or bowl and mix to combine.<\/p>\n<p>2. Add milk, stir well to combine and cover with a lid or cling wrap. Leave to soak overnight, or at least 4 hours.<\/p>\n<p>3.
