If the sesame sauce starts to burn, turn down your heat slightly.
Ingredients
Sesame Pork
- 1 pack pork sirloin steaks (at room temperature)
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 2 teaspoons runny honey
Noodle Salad
- 200g vermicelli noodles
- ½ bunch broccolini
- 1 bag Japanese slaw
- 1 pottle orange sesame dressing
- 1 tablespoon fish sauce
To Serve
- 2 tablespoons coriander leaves and stalks
- 1 sachet chopped peanuts
Steps
-
Bring a full kettle to the boil. Pat pork dry with paper towels and season with salt and pepper. Combine sesame oil, soy sauce and honey in a medium bowl, add pork, mix to combine and set aside for a few minutes to marinate.
-
Heat a drizzle of oil in a large fry-pan on medium-high heat. Cook pork for about 3 minutes each side (depending on thickness), or until just cooked through. Set aside, covered with foil to rest.
-
Place noodles and broccolini in a large heat-proof bowl, and cover with boiling water. Use a fork to separate strands and leave for 5 minutes then drain. Drizzle with a little oil to prevent sticking and use kitchen scissors to cut noodles in a few places to make them easier to eat.
-
Add Japanese slaw, orange sesame dressing and fish sauce to bowl with noodles and broccolini. Toss to combine and season to taste with salt and pepper.
-
Roughly chop coriander and set aside. Thinly slice pork against the grain.
-
To serve, divide noodle salad between bowls and top with sesame pork and a sprinkle of coriander and peanuts.
