If you feel like a BBQ tonight, cook angus beef patties on the grill for about 6 minutes each side, until cooked through. Top with cheese and leave for 1 minute, until soft. Heat burger buns on the hot plate for about 2 minutes each side, until lightly toasted and warmed through.
Ingredients
Angus Cheeseburgers
- 6 Angus beef patties
- 1 pack sliced tasty cheese
- 6 sesame burger buns
- Tomato sauce (optional)
- 1 pottle sliced gherkins
- 2 tomatoes, thinly sliced
- ½ baby cos lettuce, finely shredded
- 1 pottle burger sauce
Salad
- ½ telegraph cucumber, diced 1cm
- 1 carrot, grated
- ½ baby cos lettuce, finely shredded
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise (optional)
- Drizzle of white wine vinegar
Steps
-
Preheat oven to 200°C. Line two oven trays with baking paper. Preheat BBQ hot plate and grill to medium (if using). Heat a drizzle of oil in a large fry-pan on medium-high heat. Cook patties, in two batches, for 2-3 minutes each side, until golden. Transfer to first prepared tray. Bake for about 5 minutes, until just cooked through.
-
Remove from oven, top with 2 slices of cheese and leave to melt for 1 minute.
-
While patties cook, slice burger buns in half and place, closed, on second prepared tray. Bake (on oven rack below patties) for 5-7 minutes, until heated through and slightly toasted.
-
While burger buns are toasting, add all salad ingredients (if using) to a medium bowl and toss to combine. Season with salt and pepper and set aside.
-
To build the burgers start with tomato sauce on the bottom half of the bun, an Angus beef patty, gherkins, tomato, lettuce and finish with burger sauce on the top half of the bun.
-
To serve, divide burgers between plates and serve salad on the side.
