  • 250g frozen peas

Steps

  1. Make mash Peel and dice potatoes and carrots. Add both to a pot with a pinch of salt and cover with hot tap water. Cook on high, covered, for about 20 minutes, until very soft. Drain well then mash with milk and a knob of butter. Season to taste. Cover to keep warm.
  2. Prep onion Bring a pot of hot water to the boil. Finely dice onion.
  3. Make braised beef Heat a drizzle of oil in a large fry-pan on medium-high heat. Cook onion for 3-4 minutes, until golden. Add beef spices and flour and cook, stirring, for 30 seconds.
  4. Add water, beef sauce and tomato sauce and bring to a simmer. Stir in beef and simmer gently for 5-7 minutes, until beef is hot and sauce has reduced. Season.
  5. Cook veggies Thinly slice courgette. Add with peas to pot of boiling water and cook for about 3 minutes, until bright green and tender. Drain then toss with a knob of butter. Season to taste.
  6. Serve mash and braised beef with veggies.
