Steps

  1. Prep and cook chips Preheat oven to 220°C. Bring a half-full kettle to the boil. Cut carrots into chips and toss on a lined oven tray with garlic salt and a drizzle of oil. Roast for 25 minutes, until golden and tender.
  2. Prep burger mix Combine organic burger mix, boiling water and ½ tsp salt in a bowl and set aside for 10 minutes.
  3. Prep fixins Slice tomatoes and season and separate lettuce leaves.
  4. Make burger patties Use a ¼ cup measure to divide burger mixture then shape into 1cm-thick patties. Heat a drizzle of oil in a fry-pan on medium heat. Cook patties for 4-5 minutes each side, until crispy and hot through.
  5. Heat buns Cut burger buns in half horizontally and place, closed, on one side of another lined oven tray. Place cooked burger patties on the other side of tray and place a slice of cheese on each patty. Warm in oven, on rack below chips, for 3 minutes, until cheese is melted and buns are warm.
  6. Serve burgers filled with fixins with chips on the side.
