Asian Beef with Sesame Broccolini

Ingredients

Asian Beef

  • 1 pack beef cross cut steaks
  • 1 pack Asian spices
  • 1 carrot, diced
  • 1 pack garlic and ginger paste
  • 1 pack Asian stock sauce
  • Water
  • 1 bunch coriander

Sesame Broccolini

  • 1 pack broccolini
  • 1 pack sesame seeds

Rice

  • 2 packs basmati rice
  • 1 pack baby spinach

To Serve

  • 1 pack crispy shallots

Steps

  1. Prep the night before or morning of Pat beef dry and place in a slow cooker or casserole dish. Rub with Asian spices and season. Prep carrot and add to beef, along with garlic and ginger paste. Cover and set aside, until ready to cook.
  2. Cook in slow cooker Add Asian stock sauce and 1/2 cup water to beef. Slow cook on low for about 9-10 hours or until tender. Beef will easily pull apart when ready.
  3. Cook in oven Preheat oven to conventional 200°C. Add Asian stock sauce and 3 cups water to beef. Cover and cook for about 2 1/2 hours or until cooked through. Beef will easily pull apart when ready.
  4. Cook broccolini Heat a drizzle of sesame oil in a pan on medium heat. Add broccolini and cook for about 4 minutes, until nearly tender. Add sesame seeds and cook a further minute, until golden. Season.
  5. Heat rice & finish dish Squeeze rice in packs to separate grains. Tear top and microwave in packs for 3 minutes, until hot through. Stir spinach through rice (or stir it through Asian beef). Remove beef from sauce and using two forks, roughly pull into bite sized pieces. Return to sauce and season. Top with coriander.
  6. Serve rice topped with Asian beef, broccolini and crispy shallots.
