Ingredients
Carrot Chips
- 1 pack carrot chips
- 1 pack carrot spices
Caramelised Onions
- 1 brown onion, thinly sliced
- 1 Tbsp sugar
- 1 Tbsp balsamic vinegar
Steak Sandwich
- 1 Lebanese cucumber, thinly sliced into rounds
- 1 lettuce, leaves separated
- 1 pack cheese, sliced
- 1 pack beef rump steaks
- 1 pack Turkish foldovers
- 1 pack horseradish mayo
- Tomato sauce & mustard (optional)
Steps
-
Preheat oven to 230°C. Cook carrot chips. Toss carrots on a lined oven tray with carrot spices and a drizzle of oil. Season and roast for 20-25 minutes, until tender.
-
Cook onion. Place onion in a pot with a small knob of butter, sugar, balsamic vinegar, a drizzle of oil and a pinch of salt. Cook on medium heat for about 10 minutes, until tender. Stir often and add a splash of water if onion starts to stick.
-
Prep veggies & cheese.
-
Cook steak. Heat a drizzle of oil in a fry-pan on high heat. Pat steaks dry and season. Cook for 3-4 minutes each side for medium (depending on thickness), or until cooked to your liking. Rest, covered. Slice thinly against the grain.
-
Cook Turkish bread. Place bread on an oven tray and heat, on rack below carrots, for about 5 minutes, or until warmed through and toasted.
-
Serve everything in the middle of the table and make your own sandwich. Serve carrot chips on the side.
