Jason and Debbie Smith own and operate Smith Farming, located in Waimumu, just outside of Gore. Jason began to purchase land from his parents in the early 90s and 2000s, so the farms have been in the family for some time.
Jason and Debbie have four children, all have a keen interest in farming, with their oldest son Jordan currently working on the farm. Trading as a company will enable their children the option to buy into the business if they wish to.
This season they lambed 7,000 lambs and purchased an extra 23,000 – the Smiths sure know what they’re doing!
