Golden Syrup Dumplings

A classic recipe that is perfect for those cooler winter nights. Warming and sweet, these golden syrup dumplings are simple but seriously good. Devour with your favourite vanilla ice cream on the side!

  • 50 g butter ^
  • 45 g golden syrup
  • ½ cup milk ^
  • 1 pack golden syrup dumpling mix


  • 50 g butter ^
  • 200 g brown sugar
  • 45 g golden syrup
  • 1 ½ cups boiling water ^

Pantry Staples ^


    • Before you start, preheat oven to 180°C bake.
    • Place butter and golden syrup in a heatproof bowl and microwave for 30 seconds, until butter is melted. Add milk, dumpling mix and a pinch of salt and stir to combine, until a dough forms. Set aside.
    • Place all sauce ingredients in a large ovenproof skillet. Heat on medium heat for 2-3 minutes, until melted and combined.
    • Remove pan from heat and very carefully dollop heaped tablespoons of the dough in the sauce.
    • Bake for 20 minutes until the dumplings are cooked through.
    • Remove the dish from the oven and serve the dumplings and sauce with vanilla ice cream.
